About Polara

A 1,000-year-old star map, read for the person you're becoming.

What Polara is

Polara turns your birth moment into a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart — a Chinese astrological system dating to roughly the 10th century, sometimes called Purple Star Astrology. Where Western astrology places you in one of twelve sun signs, Zi Wei maps your birth moment across twelve life palaces — self, wealth, career, love, family, health and others — and places fourteen major stars among them, down to the two-hour window in which you were born.

The result is not a horoscope. It's a map of tendencies: where your natural strengths sit, where your attention tends to leak, and which seasons of your life tend to ask more of you.

What we believe

We use this language deliberately: discover yourself, gain clarity, align your energy, manifest your desires. We do not use language about changing your fate or breaking curses, because we don't think that's how any of this works — and because that language is used to frighten people.

How your reading is produced

Two layers:

• The chart itself is mathematics. Your birth date, birth hour and gender are run through a classical Zi Wei calculation engine. Same inputs always produce the same chart. There is nothing subjective in this step.
• The interpretation draws on traditional texts. Chart information is processed by an external text-generation service to compose your reading. Interpretations may be incomplete or inaccurate; source references are not a guarantee of accuracy.

We cache readings to reduce repeat processing. They may change if a cache is cleared or the service is updated.

Your information

Your birth date, birth window and gender are used to calculate and interpret your chart. Email signup is optional and separate from generating a reading. See our Privacy Policy for how information is processed.
